Yoga

The practices of Yoga are not about performing difficult postures, nor about how flexible you are - Yoga is simply a system designed to help us live happy, peaceful lives - so we can feel comfortable in our body’s and minds, and be good to ourselves and others.

Yoga is a tool to help us manage, harmonise and balance the systems of body and mind through the exploration of our inner space.

Regular practice facilitates a deeper mind body connection, and brings a sense of awareness and presence to our lives off of the mat, helping us better understand and recognise our habitual actions, reactions, thoughts, feelings, tendencies and behaviours…

This greater clarity & insight into the way we direct our lives allows us to adjust or change the ways we operate in our day to day experiences, so we can move through life with intention, rather than reactivity.

Yoga has been profoundly transformative for me. I lived in India for 3 years, and during that time stayed for extended periods in various schools and ashrams, practicing with different teachers, and learning different techniques.

I would love to share with you the practice of Yoga in the ways I’ve learnt and experienced it.

I practice & teach Hatha and Yin Yoga.

Hatha yoga is a practice that encourages proper movement of energy throughout the body, enhancing digestion, and directing energy to the organs and glands that support and promote optimal function of the body. It incorporates asana, pranyama and meditation.

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that’s more gentle and restorative, we allow gravity and the weight of our bodies to bring us deeper into postures. This form of Yoga works with the fascia & parasympathetic nervous system. It’s a practice that helps us move stagnant emotion, memory & energy out of the body, and is deeply meditative and restorative.
